Role Summary

Supabase is expanding its core database team. You will be building the systems and cloud tooling that deploy, configure, backup, and auto-scale hundreds of thousands of Postgres instances on behalf of developers globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build automation systems in Go and Rust to provision and orchestrate Postgres clusters.
  • Diagnose complex Postgres performance bottlenecks, connection pooling, and replication lag.
  • Design zero-downtime database upgrade routines and automated failover systems.
  • Engage with the developer community on GitHub discussions and Discord.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL internal architecture, WAL replication, and query planner.
  • Proficiency in systems programming with Go, Rust, or C.
  • Experience managing Linux systems and container orchestration at cloud scale.
  • Strong problem-solving ability in distributed systems environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with pgBouncer, pgvector, or building custom PostgreSQL extensions.
  • Previous contributions to open source database tooling.
